Transforming the way we work

Glowing With Style

Mallard & Associates financial headquarters is a commercial relocation project where we provided full commercial interior design and renovation services. Metric got to know their clients needs and preferences and brought a growing financial group together in a single, cohesive space on an entire floor of a downtown Saskatoon tower. The design balances functionality with beauty, showcasing the brand’s professional identity while incorporating modular walls for flexibility as the team evolves. Warm, natural materials were used throughout to create a welcoming and sophisticated environment that reflects the group’s values and vision.

Comic Relief

The Insightrix Call Centre is a dynamic commercial interior design project in downtown Saskatoon, blending bold creativity with functionality. This second workspace collaboration designed for Insightrix was for their relocation from a north end warehouse to a vibrant downtown office environment. The blank canvas space was transformed to suit their collaboration and productivity. Featuring bold colours like yellow, blue, and grey, custom wall dividers, and unique kitchen features, the space captures a modern comedic vibe that is Silicon Valley-inspired aesthetic. With a focus on innovative office design, this project showcases Metric Design’s expertise in creating engaging, branded commercial interiors tailored to the Saskatoon market.

Sweat It

Breathe Cycle & Yoga Studio in University Heights is a one-of-a-kind fitness space and a second collaboration with this visionary entrepreneur. This was an interior design scope project with design features such as raw, natural elements paired with sleek, culturally inspired accents to create an inviting and energizing environment. Custom lighting, including dynamic LED features, enhances the atmosphere during rides, while tiered elevations ensure optimal views from every bank. With thoughtful additions like a juice bar, water station, and a custom barn door, the studio offers a holistic, uplifting experience that extends beyond the workout.

Dark Horse, Bright Lights

Titan Lighting is a striking interior design project that masterfully balances industrial elements with pockets of soft, curated furnishings for a unique blend of practicality and design. The space features a bold black-and-white palette, complemented by stunning lighting displays and beautifully styled details throughout. A custom-designed visitors’ lounge with a sleek kitchenette and elegant decor serves as a warm, inviting focal point. Specialized furniture and unique pieces are seamlessly integrated, creating a sophisticated yet approachable atmosphere. With distinctive bathroom areas, thoughtful decorating touches, and a custom Metric painting, this project exemplifies the harmony of industrial functionality and refined design.

Twisted

Twisted Goods is a charming home décor store, designed to create a bright and inviting flagship location in Saskatoon’s Circle Centre Mall. The space features a soft Scandinavian-inspired aesthetic with light woods and airy design elements, perfectly showcasing the store’s curated collection. Irregularly shaped bulkheads, and a pre-designed floor posed an initial challenge but were cleverly transformed into standout features through thoughtful design and paint. The result is a warm, welcoming retail tenant improvement build out that blends functionality with beautiful, understated style.

Glampers

Karen from Metric Design had the incredible opportunity to design the interiors of the stunning glamping domes at Blackstrap Lake, creating a luxurious yet nature-inspired retreat. Each dome blends modern comfort with rustic charm, featuring thoughtfully curated furnishings, warm textures, and functional layouts that maximize relaxation and the connection to the outdoors. Whether guests are cozying up inside or enjoying panoramic views, these beautifully designed spaces elevate the glamping experience, bringing a touch of boutique hospitality to Saskatchewan’s great outdoors.

Chillin’

The Torch Building is a transformative interior design project in downtown Saskatoon, where Metric Design reimagined the interior and façade of a historic building, unifying its patchworked past into a cohesive and inviting space. The discovery of natural brick walls became the foundation of the design, highlighting the building’s industrial character. A custom resin antler chandelier from Mexico serves as a striking centerpiece, while slipper-style chairs and elegant stonework around the fireplace add softness and sophistication. By incorporating unique elements and blending rustic charm with refined details, the space perfectly captures the client’s vision of a natural, casual, and welcoming environment.

The Bessborough, Metric Garden Lounge

Metric Garden Lounge is a landmark project and one of Metric Design’s proudest achievements. As the first collaboration between Delta Hotels and a local design firm, this one-of-a-kind lounge set a new standard for Saskatoon. Located along the river, it became the city’s first restaurant / lounge to fully embrace its waterfront setting, creating a stunning and inviting space. The partnership was so impactful that the lounge was named in Metric’s honour, a testament to the collaboration’s success. This project represents a significant milestone for both the community and Metric Design, showcasing the power of thoughtful design in iconic spaces.

Crossmount Community

Crossmount Retirement Village is an iconic development just south of Saskatoon, and Metric Design was honoured to play a central role in bringing this visionary community to life. Known for its scenic beauty and unique offerings, including a cidery and event spaces, Crossmount presented an incredible opportunity to design fully custom homes for the entire village. Metric handled every detail, from scratch, designing both the interiors and exteriors to create functional and inviting homes tailored for the residents.

In addition to the homes, Metric designed the Crossmount Community Centre and its event space, selecting all hard finishes, materials, and elements to reflect the community’s charm and sophistication. Standout details include the stunning herringbone tile in the washrooms and the thoughtfully curated finishes throughout the cidery and event venue. This project showcases Metric Design’s expertise in blending functionality, beauty, and community-focused design to create a truly one-of-a-kind destination.

Legal Lustre

Leland Kimpinski Office is a transformative legal office in Saskatoon, repurposed from a former apartment building into a completely overhauled and reimagined workspace. Far beyond a light renovation, the project involved a full-scale redesign to repurpose the building for its new use, creating a functional and welcoming environment tailored to the legal team’s needs. Metric Design selected all material finishes, provided detailed drawings (including cabinetry), and curated furnishings to bring the space to life. Soft, delightful finishes such as whites and light woods create an airy and inviting atmosphere, balancing professionalism with a sense of calm and comfort. This project showcases the power of thoughtful design in completely reinventing a space.

Smokey

Smokies Barbeque transformed a former fast-food chain restaurant location into a fresh, industrial-inspired dining space. Metric Design led the project, providing full design, permitting, and construction services. Key elements of the redesign included repurposing the existing suspended ceiling with metallic specialty tiles to create a standout feature, while updating lighting and adding unique design touches to enhance the atmosphere. Some furniture and fixtures were reused to keep renovation costs in check, blending seamlessly with new industrial-style details. The result is a dynamic, inviting space that perfectly reflects Smokies Barbeque’s character and vision.

We’re Buds

5 Buds Cannabis Shop was a trailblazer in Saskatoon’s newly regulated cannabis retail market, and Metric Design proudly provided design and renovation services for their flagship location, as well as design for two additional out-of-town stores. The spaces feature unique elements such as hanging cages with greenery to create striking focal points, paired with high-end display areas that elevate the retail experience. Metric also customized lockable displays, custom signage, and incorporated full security measures to meet all legal requirements for cannabis retail. Through extensive research and thoughtful design, Metric successfully brought these innovative and compliant spaces to life.

What our Clients are Saying…

"I would like to say that our experience working with Metric was excellent.  We knew that we had a difficult project, with an extremely tight timeline, a lot of decision-makers (which can often be very difficult to navigate the many different tastes people have when you’re talking design), and starting basically from scratch without even a brand or name for our store.  To have pulled off the level of quality you guys did with those factors in play is truly amazing – it looked like months were spent working on this and you nailed exactly what we were looking for in roughly 17 days.  We know you and your team went above and beyond to make this happen, even within our initial budget too.  Our team was extremely happy with everything and as a result of this experience, we would not hesitate to recommend your services and to work with you again."

Let’s Hear It For The Boys

Battery Boys (now Bolt Mobile) entrusted Metric Design with brand conceptualization and integration across three Saskatoon, Sasktel authorized locations, transforming each space into a cohesive and functional retail environment. Metric provided custom design solutions, including displays, shelving, desks, and millwork details, ensuring the brand's identity was seamlessly reflected throughout. Ceiling elements and construction-ready details were also meticulously designed to guide contractors and streamline the build process. The result is a series of polished, well-branded spaces that enhance the shopping experience while meeting the practical needs of the business.
