WATCH: Metric teams up with Centennial to form CENTRIC, on a Residential Design and Construction Project
If you’ve ever watched HGTV you’ve undoubtedly seen a house flipping show in one form or another. Maybe it was the fixer-upper series, the home makeover, or the fix and flip in different locations all over North America. Now we have our very own version in our hometown of Saskatoon!
WATCH Tamara from Metric Design introduce a new partnership with Centennial. They find the right home for sale, Metric creates the design, Centennial performs the construction, and then they sell the finished product. Voila!
The first of this collaboration is the Centric Lakehouse. Located in one of the most sought after neighborhoods in Saskatoon, this Grosvenor Park home was built in the 1960s with really cool retro vibes, an established spacious backyard, and a footprint you don’t often find in urban areas anymore.
“Our goal is to revive it back to its era, really elevate the mid-century modern elements to highlight the bones of the home, while creating a prairie style feel”, says Bowman. “However, that can’t happen until everything is gutted. It’s a major renovation. We are changing the entire layout, opening up rooms, adding large windows and including walk-out door systems.”
The approach for this type of project is completely different than what Metric is used to. Rather than designing a home to bring the client’s personality and style into the space, they are starting with a blank slate. Which is actually more difficult, because they can do anything they like! That said, they are working within a certain budget and are working around their current client projects.
Stay tuned for all the updates as the project develops!
